Bello blames economic challenges on neglect of agriculture
Abubakar Sani Bello
Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has hinged the current economic challenges facing the country on decades of neglect of agriculture and over-dependence on crude oil.
Bello, who spoke while receiving the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Faruk Bahago, during the traditional Sallah homage, advised the people of the state to return to farming and avail themselves of the opportunity of the various credit packages designed to boost agriculture.
His words: “We have for long depended on crude oil which has resulted to the challenges the country is facing today. We neglected the abundant resources we have been blessed with.”
